Welcome to the Bates Motel the West Midlands top source of quality board and lodgings. Alden Bates is the owner. Stephen is the Head Waiter. Marcus Durham is the Motel manager and David Lewis is Dai the gardener, Miss Alison is the head waitress, Tina J Perrett owns a stake in the Motel, Dave Stone is the security guard and Chuck is the restaurant manager. Peter Goddard is the big hatted Caledonian head chef. There's also an array of other wonderful characters who work at the motel as well as lunatic guests such as Father Canon Straddling. And Neil Farnham Smith guest stars.

[Dave and Large are on the roof investigating a close by thunderstorm.
Suddenly a bolt of lightening appears to hit Dave. There is a massive
bang and Aidans conductor appears to light up. Manic laughing can be
heard from within the Motel building.]
Large: Dave? Dave? Where are you? ARRGGHHH!!!!!
[Theme tune plays and fades out]
Dave: What's up?
Large: Nothing, it's just we needed a cliffhanger.
[The manic laughter continues in the background]
Large: We had better go and see where that is coming from.
[In reception Alison is at the reception desk. Marcus enters]
Alison: [in a hurry] It's my time for going home.
Marcus: You are quick of the mark. You've got 30 seconds to go yet.
Alison: Well my watch says 11PM. I'm off.
Marcus: But where is the night relief for the reception desk?
Alison: The normal bloke is ill. So you're it.
Marcus: Me?
Alison: Yes, now I'm going. Heaven help anybody who is foolish to stay
here past midnight.
[Alison runs out of the main door whilst putting on her coat. A few
seconds later a car can be heard accelerating away]
Marcus: What's up with her?
[Marcus walks over to the reception desk. Dai enters.]
Dai: Is Miss Alison still here?
Marcus: She just went.... What are you doing here at this time of night?
Dai: Oh I was getting a bite to eat in the canteen. I'd better hurry. I've
got a Halloween party to go to at midnight.
Marcus: [Looks at his watch] It's October the 31st? Oh my God it's
October the 31st!!! No wonder Alison was in a hurry.
You'd have to be mad to stay here on October the 31st!
Dai: Oh, it doesn't bother me boyo! Anyway, see you.
[Dai walks out through the main door just as a loud clap of thunder can
be heard from outside. Marcus runs after Dai through the main door]
Marcus [shouting through the rain]: What other members of staff are in the Motel
with me?
Dai: Oh just Dave and Large boyo!
[Marcus re-enters the Motel]
Marcus: Oh no. Not even Pete is here. It's just me and those two idiots.
I'm doomed.
[Marcus goes over to the desk and starts to look through the bookings.
Dave and Large silently enter. Marcus doesn't notice]
Dave: Hello.
Marcus [cowering behind the desk]: ARRGGHHHH!!!! Possess anyone you want
but don't hurt me!!!
Dave: It's only us.
Marcus[getting up]: Phew.
Dave: What's up?
Marcus: What do you mean, what's up? It's October the 31st and
we are the only staff in the building. Oh and midnight approaches.
Dave: Ah, that might explain it.
Marcus: What?
Dave: The lightening hitting the building, the manic laughing from
behind Alden's study.
Marcus: That's only the beginning.
Dave: And what about the end?
[dramatic pause]
[In the Executive Sitting room the lights are off. A figure enters, closes
the door but does not put the light on. They pull out a torch and begin
searching the room. Meanwhile back in reception]
Marcus: I think we would be safest in your office. We could monitor the
entire Motel using the security cameras.
Dave: Excellent idea.
Large: I've got a better idea. Let's all go home.
Marcus: Shut up... We'd better go to security then.
[They all exit reception. In the corridor]
Marcus: You two go on to security. I just want to collect something
from my office.
[Marcus walks off. Dave and Large continue on their way]
[Meanwhile the stranger is still searching the Executive sitting room.
After more searching the stranger leaves the room and enters the corridor.
Meanwhile Marcus is now in his office]
Marcus: Now where did I put that garlic?
[Suddenly there is a noise from behind the door]
Marcus: Who?s there?
[silence]
Marcus: Must be my imagination.
[There is another noise, this time it is louder]
Marcus: Who is it!
[The door creaks open slowly. A figure enters the room. Marcus squints into
the darkness]
Figure: I'm back.
[Marcus recognises the voice]
Marcus: Aidan!
Aidan: Yes.
Marcus: Well, that?s fine then.
Aidan: You are not surprised?
Marcus: Not really. I did read the script.
Aidan [hisses]: Shut up you idiot.
Marcus: Well, go to Aldens study. I'm told strange things are afoot.
Aidan: OK.
[Aidan leaves the room and walks down the corridor. He enters Aldens study
and turns the lights on. In the far side of the room a woman is examining
Aldens Amateur Embalmer of the year 1979 trophy]
Aidan: Who are you?
Suki: I'm Aldens past catching up with him.
Aidan: What?
Suki: I'm Aldens wife.
Aidan: That is illogical.
Suki: What?
Aidan: He is already married.
Suki: What!
Aidan: I said..
Suki: I heard you..... Still with his amnesia Alden won't know that.
Aidan: I must go.
[Aidan leaves the room. Suki the sits down at Alden's desk]
Suki: I'm back.. and it's about time.
[Theme tune fades in]
