He takes the statuette from the podium and just looks at it for a moment, as the crowd begins to mutter impatiently.] BKWILLIS: (quietly) Wow. 'Best Author'. That's... Wow. [BKWILLIS looks out at the assembled people, obviously choked-up.] BKWILLIS: (quietly) This really means a lot to me. I mean, it's an honor just to have even been on the same list with names like Jeri Massi, Clive May, Susannah Tiller, and Doug Killings. If a man is judged by the company he keeps, I ought to be in good shape there... At any rate, I have to give my heartfelt thanks to all the people who've been such a big help to me and who've made being a part of the alt.drwho.creative community such a wonderful experience. Particularly, I have to thank: Clive May for helping me get my start and for being such a source of insight and inspiration; Graham Woodland for his advice, assistance, and general good cheer; and, of course, the man I couldn't have done this without, the Batman to my Robin, the Butch Cassidy to my Sundance Kid, the Bugs Bunny to my Daffy Duck, Douglas Killings. To you three, and all the rest, I can only say, 'Love ya, mean it'. Also-- [A shepherd's hook is thrust out from the curtains and yanks BKWILLIS off-stage before he can ramble on all night.]
